Modern Amazing Nursery [interior Design]

Let's talk. There are some amazingly talented people out there and Monica Thompson is one of them. Monica is the Midwest Woman's Account Executive for Hudson Jeans, and she has design embedded in every molecule of her body. She is also currently carrying her first baby, and let me tell you: this is a gift to mankind. Not only are Monica and her husband Brian great people, but they are also very pretty people (photo below for reference).

Now let's talk design -- Monica's design. She put together this airy, natural, bright, and fantastic nursery with Brian's help.  She will tell you her style leans eclectic, and she likes to mix old with modern (me too!!). Since they are not finding out the sex of the baby they wanted to keep the room neutral but not a "boring" neutral. The inspiration derived from the deer painting she found at Land of Nod. Brian is a hunter and gave his seal of approval then design happiness ensued.

The walls are elephant grey with bright white trim. For interest, Monica incorporated yellow mixed with wood accents.  The rocking chair belonged to her grandfather, and the birdhouse has been traveling with her from her days living in Chicago. The mirror, dresser, and book ledges are from Ikea.

The antler mobile was inspired by an image Monica came across on a blog. She used one of Brian's trophy antlers and strung felt balls from strings. So they made it together. How. Cute.

Did you notice the carpet was blue? Me neither because the design is so cohesive t doesn't stand out in a bad way. It was installed by the previous homeowner, and when Monica used the term "Smurf blue" to describe it, I could tell she's not a fan of the Smurfs or the color they come in. She complimented the carpet with a yellow geometric rug and made it werk.

I'm loving the feather art, book shelves, and the way Monica made the room so them! It's incredibly fresh and perfect for the new little one that is expected to arrive any minute now.

I told you they are pretty.

I love this nursery! Do you happen to know where the crib is from?

It's the Hudson Crib by Babyletto in white. Normally pricy but Monica found this on overstock.com for half the price. Thanks for visiting!
